Let's Play Tic Tac Toe
It is Saturday and it is another sensational one at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we want you to create your vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired card or paper crafted project and play TIC TAC TOE.
Using the game board shown below, choose any row horizontally, vertically or diagonally and add the three items in that row to your project. Just remember that all three items you use must come from the same row and all must be on your project.
We have another wonderful sponsor this week. A Day for Daisies will be providing our random winner with a $12 gift card to their store, which is filled with beautiful digital stamps.
The random winner will also receive a Sugar Creek Hollow badge to display on her blog. The Design Team will choose a Card of the Week and the creator will not only receive a Sugar Creek Hollow badge but will also be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
As always, the Design Team has created some inspiration for you and this time we have all used a wonderful image from A Day for Daisies. If you would like more details on each of the cards, just click on the designer's name and you will be taken right to their blog.
I have used the middle vertical row on my card. The big flower is simply made using a couple of punches. For fun I digitally paper pieced the apron.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Southern Girls - Anything Goes
Ruby's Rainbow - Flowers

Bedtime Story
The challenge this week at Phindy's Place is all about CIRCLES. I've put lots of different round things on this card and really only the ribbon is the only non-round item.
I asked my Granddaughter if she would read to me (she is 4 3/4 and just learning) and she agreed but before she could start, my 2 year-old Grandson went running to get a book. He loves books and the minute he heard "read", he thought that meant him. Apparently he even wants to take his books to bed with him so he has tossed the stuffed toys out of his crib. Now if we could just get him to be a little more gentle with his books.
Don't forget that next week will be our first monthly Phabulous Phindy Phriday - an anything goes challenge but you must use a Phindy image.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Everybody Art Challenge - Anything Goes
Creative Inspriations Paint - Bright Colors
Little Miss Muffet - Reds, Oranges & Yellows
Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Digi Day

A Sassy Christmas Card
As I have mentioned, I am on a mission to make as many Christmas cards as I can before December. Since I got really carried away with embellishments last year and they ended up forcing the cost of postage through the roof, my cards this year are going to be more clean and simple. That should make my husband a lot happier since he was the one who paid for all that extra postage and had to stand there and put the stamps on each envelope.
This week the challenge at Sassy Cheryl's is to make a tent card so I used this opportunity to use one of her images I had bought some time ago.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
Sassy Cheryl's - Tent Cards
Christmas Cards All Year Long - Anything Goes
Lexi's Creations - No Sentiment
Bah Humbug - Scarves & Mittens
Image: Santa and Snowman (Sassy Cheryl)
Card Stock: Green (Wassau)
Papers: Stripe & Spotted (Sandylion Sticker Designs), Red (Lasting Impressions)
Colouring Medium: Pencil Crayons (Prismacolors) with OMS (Taltine)
Tools & Embellishments: Card Candy (Craftwork Cards)

French Postcard
Wow, it's Saturday already and we have a sensational color challenge for you this week at Sugar Creek Hollow. We want you to use PURPLE, KRAFT & BLACK when you create your vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired card or other paper-crafted project. Don't forget - all three colors must appear on your project. Black is black but purple and kraft come in a variety of shades so it will be fun to see how creative you can be.
Our random winner will receive a badge to display and a digi of our choice. The Design Team will choose a Card of the Week and that creator will receive a badge to display but will also be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
The Design Team had fun creating with these colors and have lots of inspiration for you. If you want more details about their cards, just click on their name and you will be taken directly to their blog.
I have used an image from one of my favourite digi stamp shops, Isabella's Sketchbook. I was on Isabella's Design Team before she had to shut her challenge blog down for personal reasons so it is so exciting to see that she is drawing and when she releases something new, I can't wait to buy it. Many of her wonderful images are vintage inspired and I love them. This card also has some lovely gifts from a couple of my lovely Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team members. They are not only talented, they are so generous.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Black & White for Christmas
This time of year I look for any excuse to make a Christmas card so I don't have to scramble in December. OK, OK so if the truth be known, I still have to scramble but the plan sounds good in theory.
This week the challenge at Phindy's Place is to make a card in Black and White with just a bit of colour. I chose to put the colour on the image since the Christmas ornaments were perfect for that. You could colour your image in shades of black and put a little pop of colour in somewhere else on the card.
We have an exciting change coming up on the Phindy's Place Challenge Blog:
Starting in July we are having Phabulous Phindy Phriday on the first Friday of each month. This will be an Anything Goes Challenge with a twist - you can make absolutely anything, combine it with as many other challenges as you like, as long as you use a Phindy's Place image and have made a NEW project for the challenge - no backlinking please!
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

My Mums Craft Shop - Seeing Spots
Bearly Mine - Anything Goes

Water Baby
This week our challenge at Phindy's Place is to create a card or other paper-crafted project using the theme of WATER. After the overly embellished card I did last week with all the flowers and the big bow, I decided to go really clean and simple this week.
You don't have to use a Phindy image but as you can see by the Design Team cards, Phindy has lots of images that fit this theme and there are only a few represented on the challenge blog. I would encourage you to pop over to Phindy's store and pick one of the great images to use in your project. If you do enter with a Phindy's image, don't forget that you can enter it twice.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Paper Flowers, Vintage Lace & Bling
Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week our challenge is all about embellishments - HAND MADE PAPER FLOWERS, VINTAGE LACE & BLING.
We want you to use all of these embellishments on your card or other paper-crafted creation. If you don't have truly vintage lace, just use something that has the appearance of being old. Don't forget that our challenges are for your vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired projects. So rummage through your craft stash and challenge yourself to try your hand at one of these styles using the theme for this week. We can't wait for you to show us what you come up with.
We will be choosing a random winner, who will receive a winner's badge to display and a digi of our choice. The Design Team will also select a Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
As they always do, our Design Team has created some gorgeous cards for your inspiration. So check out the challenge blog and if you want to get the details, just click on their name and you will be taken right to their blog.
I am not sure if the lace on my card is truly vintage but I do know that it is old and special. My dear Mother passed away 18 1/2 years ago and when I cleaned out her house I found a bag with lace in it and this piece is from the bag. I have no idea of where it came from or how old it is but I figure even 18 1/2 years makes it old.
The little medallion is special too because it came from the stash of my husband's elderly Aunt who passed away a couple of years ago. The book page that I made the hearts from is actually a scan from Vol. 1 of an eight volume set called Character Sketches, which was published in 1892. I didn't have the courage to take the page out of the book so I scanned it and then made it look as old as it really is.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
AI Factory - Distressing
Crafty Purple Frog - Things of Beauty
Little Miss Muffet Challenges - Metal Embellishment
Stamp Insanity - Anything Goes
Paper Creation Ink - Ribbon or Lace
ABC-challenge - 3 Types of Embellishments (Flower, Bling, Metal)
