Vintage Daffodil
The spring flowers are starting to bloom and with this being Easter weekend, there are so many gorgeous available in the markets so we decided that the challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow would be called FLORAL.
I found this lovely vintage daffodil at The Graphics Fairy and decided to use that as my floral element, especially since the daffodil is one of the classic spring flowers and also because it is the symbol of the Canadian Cancer Society, a charity close to my heart since my Mother died of cancer. The image was a black and white engraving so it was easy to colour. I am having so much trouble with my photos lately and this one doesn't really do justice to this card because it looks quite lovely in real life (if I do say so myself). The embossed panel has been sprayed with pearl glimmer mist so it has a bit of a sheen. Also, that is a triple bow but if I lightened the photo up enough for you to see that then the colour of the paper changed even more and there was an orange glow at the top. I know I need a photo booth and now it also looks like I need camera lessons :)
I hope you will dig out your floral images or floral papers and embellishments and create something vintage, shabby chic or primitive for the Sugar Creek Hollow challenge.
I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:
