Paper Piecing at Whoopsi Daisy

This month we are challenging you to do some paper piecing at the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge Blog.  I think this little lady is so elegant and yet so sweet.  I found some freebie velvet digital paper when I was surfing around months ago and while it may be difficult to see in the photo, that is what I used for her coat and hat.

I don't have a sentiment on the front but I have put a Christmas sentiment on the inside.

Wishing you
the Merriest Christmas
and the
Happiest New Year!

Lili All Dressed Up

I am back from vacation but am suffering from exhaustion thanks to jet lag and the change in time so this will be a short post.

We have a colour challenge for you this week at Delightful Challenges and want you to use purple, green and black on your paper crafting project.  I think Lili looks perfectly lovely in her purple outfit with that pretty green purse on her arm.

You don't have to use an image from Digital Delights on your project but remember, you get two entries if you do.  There are lots of wonderful images to choose from so pop over to the store and make a purchase.

Harvest Time

Today at Sugar Creek Hollow we were all asked to create a card using this Lord of the Harvest tag.  Make sure you take a look at all the other creations using this tag - you will be amazed and inspired.

I loved making this vintage card and even added the crow, which is another Sugar Creek Hollow digi.  There are so many digis at the Sugar Creek Hollow shop, including sentiments, that can be combined to make wonderful projects.

A Phindy Thank You Card

Today the challenge for you at Phindy's Place is to make a thank you card.  You certainly can't have too many of those on hand so this should be easy for you.

You must use one of Phindy's images but since there are so many that would be suitable for this type of card, that should not be a problem.

Sparkle, Sparkle

The challenge this week at Delightful Challenges is to make it sparkle.  I love this little mouse skiing down the sparkly hills with the snow falling.  I know there is a way of making your glitter show in your photos but when I went to the camera supply store and they told me it would cost $60 for the special filter and mounting pieces I would need, I decided you would have to believe me that there is lots of sparkle on this card.  I haven't added a sentiment on the front but I intend to use this as a Christmas card.

Tiffany Lamp

This week at Sugar Creek Hollow, our DT Coordinator asked us to create a card using one of the Sugar Creek Hollow digis with the colours, black, riding hood red and vanilla.  I loved this tiffany lamp when I saw it and knew it would be perfect in this colour scheme.  Check out the blog to see what all the other ladies made with this colour scheme.

Pumpkins

The challenge this week at Delightful Challenges is to create a paper project with pumpkins on it.  Since we still haven't reached Halloween yet, I decided to combine the pumpkins with another of the wonderful spooky images from Digital Delights.  Oh heck, he's too cute to be spooky so I added a spider with a web.  I know the photo isn't showing it but the web is actually sparkly because I used a gel pen with a silver sparkle to make it.

Sugar Creek Sketch

Today, I used one of the wonderful images at Sugar Creek Hollow and followed a sketch set by our Design Team Coordinator.  I did rotate the sketch but I don't think she will mind.  While I made this into a birthday card, I really think this image would make a lovely sympathy card if the right papers were selected and that is such a bonus because it can be so difficult to make sympathy cards.

Hop on over to the Sugar Creek Hollow blog and check the wonderful takes on this sketch by the rest of the team.  You will be inspired.

Just Because Snowman

This is going to be a short post because I am packing for our trip tomorrow but I am so excited to show you a little card that I made yesterday afternoon that wasn't done to meet a design team commitment but just because I wanted to do it.

I love Sassy Cheryl's images and used to be able to participate every week at her challenge blog but lately with all my design teams I have not been able to play and was really missing it.  Today I get to play - woo hoo!

I apologize for the photo but it is dull and dreary here and I don't have time to play with it.  Besides I need to charge the battery in the camera so it can go with us.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl's - Let it Snow
Fab 'n' Funky - What'eva
Simon Says Stamp - Holidays (Christmas)
Pollycraft  - Christmas (no red or green)

Ribbons Galore

Our challenge to you this week at Delightful Challenges is to use ribbons, ribbons and more ribbons with the photo below for the colour scheme.

The design team was provided with absolutely gorgeous ribbon to use on our creations by this week's sponsor, Really Reasonable Ribbon, and all the ribbon was so much fun to work with.  The yellow ruffled frame is actually ribbon with a ruffle on each side and it has a wee bit of stretch to it so it made it easy to go around corners.

Remember, while you don't have to use an image from Digital Delights by Louby Loo, you get two entries in the draw for the prize package if you do use one.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Bee Crafty - Anything Goes
Mark's Finest Papers - Use 5 of Something (5 different ribbons)
Pile it On - Layers

First Day of School

We are off to England on Friday for a vacation and to visit dear friends.  Now while this is a good thing, the bad thing is that when I am gone I am going to miss my granddaughter's very first ever day of school.  She is entering Junior Kindergarten and after the staggered entry they have set up, she will be going on a school bus so I made this card for her and will leave it with her Mommy to give to her.  Traveling on a huge school bus will be quite an adventure for a very petite 4 year-old and I can't wait to hear how she does.

This wonderful image from Phindy's Place is called Contentment and it describes my state of mind right now.  The challenge this week at Phindy's Place Challenge Blog is to make a card using one of Phindy's images and do some paper piecing.  When I finished my card, I was quite contented with the result.

    Halloween Fun at Digital Delights

Today is new release day at Digital Delights by Louby Loo and it is all about Halloween.  Not only are the new images about Halloween with lots of ghosts, witches and other spooky creatures but that is our challenge to you this week at Delightful Challenges - make a Halloween project.

This challenge is generously sponsored by Pink Hedgehog Papercrafts so you will want to show us your card, scrapbook layout, altered item or whatever paper craft you can dream up.  While you don't have to use an image by Digital Delights in your creation, there are so many wonderful ones to choose from we hope you will.  If you do use a Digital Delights image, make sure you enter it twice.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

A Crafty Little Place - Anything Goes
Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes

Images:  Ghost in the Cauldron, Haunted House, Sentiment (Digital Delights by Louby Loo)

I am pleased to announce that I have accepted an invitation to be on the design team for Whoopsi Daisy. Now if you haven't seen these images before, be prepared to fall in love with them because they are the sweetest digis.  The best part is that they come in sheets with four images for a very good price.

Our challenge to you this month at Whoopsi Daisy is to create a card and pile on the flowers.  I tried something a bit eclectic with this card and after it was finished, I realized I am not particularly happy with the funky floral background paper but I like the rest of the card - live and learn :)
