Sewing Basket

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we have a great challenge - EMBOSSING. You can create your vintage, shabby chic or primitive card with dry or heat embossing.

Join us in saying hello to Digi Doodle Shop, a lovely new sponsor who will be providing one random winner with a $10 gift certificate from their store. The random winner will also receive a winner's badge from Sugar Creek Hollow to display on her blog. In addition the Design Team will select one project as Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

The Design Team has used a number of the fabulous images from Digi Doodle Shop and have created some wonderful inspiration for you.

I used this wonderful Sewing Basket image and was so intent on colouring this beauty that I forgot all about the challenge theme so my embossing is a bit lame. I love the combination of the paper and the image though because they remind me of a Grandmother or at least what I think an old fashioned Grandmother would have. I don't know if my Grandmother sewed because she died when my Mother was only 3 weeks old. I never did hear anything about my Grandmother on my Father's side. He only ever mentioned a Sister who was an actress in Poland. I think my Grandchildren are lucky because I am very much in their lives and I am trying to create good memories with them.

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Digi Doodle Shops Best - Embossing
Crafty Creations - Something New (Stamp)
Freshly Brewed - Something New (Stamp)
Gingersnap Creations - Ribbon
The Cat's Pajamas - Embossing

  5. Such a pretty card...especially love the bow and pearls. These images were the most fun to work with this week and I love Digi Doodles! Grandmothers are special and I am happy for your grandchildren to have the memories of you and the time together. I miss mine, but do have wonderful memories of them both, as well as a quilt made by my Dad's mom. She passed when I was just turning 18 and she made all of the grandchildren a quilt to have when we married. Mine was ready and waiting for the day, buy my Aunts and Uncles gave it to me early. I treasure it to this day.
    hugs....

  9. Hello, Cec :) Really nice to sew and see you! You've chosen great image and made it very much alive. Your colorine is very detailed and how you have used shades on the basked, makes it really gorgeous.

Colours and style makes this also warm grandmother style. It is a compliment!

It is nice to see you joining us this week at Digi Doodle Shop Challenges #90 Embossing. Surely we'll see even more of your creations in the future? :) Annemaritta
